Gadget Display
Once configured and added to the dashboard, the Advanced Activity Stream gadget provides a clean, responsive, and information-rich view of real-time Jira activity. The layout is designed to prioritize readability, traceability, and interaction for daily project monitoring and team awareness.
📐 Display Modes
The Advanced Activity Stream offers several display modes to suit different user needs, allowing for a streamlined or detailed view of activities.
Simple View
This mode presents activities in a concise format. It only shows the essentials: the user's avatar, the action performed, and the issue number. Simple view is ideal for users who need a quick and clean overview of activity.
Detailed View
This mode displays additional information under each activity, including updated fields, comments, logged work, and other changes related to the issues. The detailed view is perfect for users who need a more in-depth analysis of each action in the activity stream.
Compact View
This mode combines the simplicity of the Simple View with a compact presentation of additional information, offering a balance between brevity and detail.
These modes can be easily toggled using the buttons located at the top-right corner of the gadget, giving users the flexibility to monitor activity according to their preferences.
📅 Grouped by Date
Activities are chronologically grouped using natural date indicators such as:
Today
Yesterday
Monday, Tuesday...
This temporal grouping helps users quickly locate relevant updates from recent working days or sprints.
👤 User Attribution & Action Summary
Each activity entry starts with:
User avatar or initials
Full name or display name
The action performed, written in natural language
These blocks immediately answer the question:

These quick-access links streamline common Jira actions directly from the dashboard.
🔁 Stream Navigation & Lazy Loading
At the bottom of the gadget:
A “Show more...” button lets users load older activity items incrementally
The stream does not auto-load everything at once, keeping dashboard performance optimized
This is ideal for users scanning recent changes without overwhelming the interface.
