TimeFlow for Jira - Preferences

The Preferences section in TimeFlow for Jira allows users to customize how time tracking data is displayed and exported. These settings ensure that the report data aligns with your team's preferences and provides consistency when analyzing and sharing data.

Preferences can be accessed by clicking the gear icon ⚙️ (top-right corner) and selecting Preferences from the dropdown menu.


Accessing Preferences

  1. In the TimeFlow for Jira app interface, click the gear icon (⚙️) located at the top right.

  2. Select Preferences.

This opens the Preferences page where you can configure time tracking display and export settings.

General Settings

App Time Tracking Configuration

These settings control how time values are presented in reports. They affect only the display and export formats within the app and do not change the underlying data.

  • Time Display
    Select how time values should appear in reports:

    • Hour: Display durations in hours (e.g., 5h 30m).

    • Minutes: Display durations entirely in minutes.

  • Export Format
    Choose how data should appear when exported:

    • Pretty: User-friendly format (e.g., "3 hours 45 minutes").

    • Raw: Raw numerical values for easier spreadsheet calculations.

Jira Time Tracking Configuration

These fields reflect your Jira instance's time tracking settings. You can update their values directly in Jira if needed.

  • Time Display Format
    Displays how Jira formats time tracking data (read-only here).

  • Working Hours per Day
    Number of working hours defined per day (default: 8 hours).

  • Working Days per Week
    Number of working days defined per week (default: 5 days).

Note: These values are used to normalize time tracking reports and calculations within TimeFlow.


Saving Changes

Once your preferred settings are selected:

  1. Click Save Changes to apply your configuration.

  2. To discard updates, click Cancel.
