Table reports

The Table Report is a feature in the Timesheet plugin that allows users to generate and analyze worklogs through customizable filtering options.

Main Sections of the Table Report Interface

  1. Custom Filters Panel (Left Side):

    • Search Bar:

      • Located at the top of the panel, this allows you to search for previously saved custom filter by name.

      • After configuring the filters:

        • Click Save to store your settings.

        • Name the filter for easy identification.

    • Recent Custom Reports:

      • Below the search bar, you will see a list of your recently saved custom filters. Clicking on a filter will instantly apply it to the Table Report.

  2. Search Worklogs Toolbar (Top Center):

    • This section provides the primary filtering tools for generating reports. Below is a breakdown of the options:

      • Projects: Filter worklogs by selecting one or multiple Jira projects.

      • Groups: Narrow down the results by selecting specific user groups.

      • Users: Choose individual users or select "All" to include everyone.

      • Filters: Apply advanced filters for additional customization (e.g., tags, labels).

      • Date By: Define the time period for the report. For example, the default setting here is "Number Weeks" with the value -1, which retrieves data from the last week.

      • Display By: Select how you want the time to be displayed, such as in Hours or Days.

      • Advanced: Access additional options for deeper customization.

    • Generate Button:

      • Once the filters are configured, click this button to execute the search and generate the report.

"Table Report" Views

1. Default View

The Default View is the initial report generated after applying filters. It provides a high-level summary of worklogs.

Features:
  • Visualization:

    • A Bar Chart at the bottom shows the total logged time by user and project, providing a quick comparison.

Usage:
  • Use this view to get an overall picture of time logged by each team member for specific projects.

  • Click on the Export button to download the report in CSV or Excel format for further analysis.

2. Issues View

The Issues View provides detailed worklog data grouped by individual Jira issues, offering greater granularity.

Features:
  • Columns:

    • The user has the flexibility to customize the columns, adding, removing, or reordering them to suit their specific needs

  • Visualization:

    • A Stacked Bar Chart summarizes logged time, deviations, and remaining estimates for issues.

Usage:
  • Best for tracking specific tasks or issues, monitoring their progress, and comparing planned vs. actual work hours.

  • Click on the Export button to download the report in CSV or Excel format for further analysis.

3. Advanced View

The Advanced View is designed for in-depth analysis, providing the most granular details about worklogs.

Features:
  • Columns:

    • The user has the flexibility to customize the columns, adding, removing, or reordering them to suit their specific needs

Usage:
  • Ideal for auditing worklogs or generating detailed reports for management reviews.

  • Click on the Export button to download the report in CSV or Excel format for further analysis.

4. Group By Feature

The Group By functionality allows you to reorganize data in any view based on specific fields.

Available Grouping Options:
  • Project: Groups data by project for high-level analysis.

  • Issue Type: Useful for categorizing worklogs based on task type.

  • Status: Organizes data by the workflow status of issues.

  • Priority: Groups worklogs by issue priority.

  • Assignee: Shows worklogs grouped by team members responsible for tasks.

  • Reporter: Groups worklogs based on the user who reported the issue.

  • Affects Version: Categorizes worklogs by the version(s) affected by the issue.

  • Fix Version: Groups data by the version where the issue is expected to be resolved.

  • Component: Allows grouping based on project components.

  • Labels: Organizes data by custom labels assigned to issues.

  • Epic: Groups worklogs under the associated Epic, offering a higher-level view of related tasks.

Visualization:
  • The selected grouping is applied dynamically to both the table and the corresponding chart, providing clear insights based on the chosen field.

Usage:
  • Select a grouping option from the Group By dropdown menu to reorganize the data instantly.

  • Combine grouping with filters to create focused, actionable reports tailored to your needs.

  • Click on the Export button to download the report in CSV or Excel format for further analysis.
