Capabilities
The Capabilities section allows administrators to enable, configure, and control advanced features of Timesheet for Jira.
It centralizes all optional functionalities, making it easy to customize the plugin according to organizational needs.
Only users with administrator access can modify capabilities.
1. Project Overview
Description: The Project Overview feature provides a consolidated view of your project's timesheet, including logged hours, estimates, and progress.
Enable/Disable: Use the toggle on the right to activate or deactivate the feature.
Project Selection:
Select the projects for which the overview will be enabled.
Multiple projects can be added.
Use Case: Ideal for project managers needing a quick overview of project performance.
2. AI Features
Description: Activates AI-powered suggestions for work descriptions.
Enable/Disable: Controlled via the toggle.
Use Case: Speeds up and standardizes the logging process by providing smart, contextual description suggestions.
3. Planning Features
Description: Unlocks advanced planning tools and functions within the Timesheet plugin.
Warning: A note reminds administrators to read the documentation before enabling.
Option Available:
Allow the creation of recurring workplans with no end date.
Important: This prevents the generation of "All Time" reports for such workplans.
Use Case: Useful for scheduling repeated work sessions or long-term recurring tasks.
4. External Calendars Integration
Description: Connects Timesheet with Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook.
Purpose: Enables two-way syncing — view and convert your calendar events into worklogs directly in Jira.
Warning: Requires careful setup. Documentation is recommended before activation.
Use Case: Facilitates seamless time logging from external meetings and events.
5. Issue Context (BETA)
Description: Adds an Issue Context section to Jira issues, showing related worklogs and context directly in the issue view.
Status: Beta — functionality may evolve.

Best Practices
Always test new capabilities in a staging environment before enabling them in production.
Limit access to Capabilities to trusted administrators.
Regularly review enabled features to ensure they match your team's current processes and security standards.
