Access

Addon access

This interface allows the admin to configure and manage who can access the addon by including or excluding users. In the navigation menu, go to Administration section

Setting access

Only Jira admins can access the settings page and see this section, so to manage it, you can decide who can access the addon. You can set it as:

  1. Open : Anyone with access to Jira site can access to the addon.

  2. Private : Only admins and people you add have access to the addon.

Only Jira administrators with the required permissions can access this page.


Key Features

  1. Restricted Access

    • A banner at the top confirms: "Only admins have access to this page."

    • Non-admin users will not be able to view or modify this section.

  2. Search and Add Users or Groups

    • Use the search bar "Search for users or groups..." to find Jira users or groups.

    • The search dynamically filters matching entries as you type.

  3. Adding Access

    • Click Add people in the top-right corner.

    • Select one or more users or groups to grant them access.

    • Newly added entries appear instantly in the access list.

  4. Removing Access

    • Locate the user or group in the list.

    • Click Remove on the right-hand side to revoke access.

    • The removal is effective immediately.


Access List Overview

The table displays:

  • Name: The Jira display name and avatar of the user or group.

  • Actions: The option to Remove access.


Best Practices

  • Limit access to trusted administrators to avoid unauthorized changes.

  • Use groups instead of adding users individually for easier management.

  • Regularly review the access list to maintain compliance and security.
